Austrian Bundesliga club WSG Tirol have confirmed the signing of Ademola OlaAdebomi, the 21 year old centreforward formerly of Crystal Palace, marking the end of a 13year association with the Premier League club.

OlaAdebomi, who joined Crystal Palace as an eight year old, never featured in the senior side, though he was included in the matchday squad on four occasions including three Premier League fixture. The striker starred at youth level, recording 24 goals and two assists in 38 appearances for the U21s, and earned the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award in November 2023.

During his development, he also spent time on loan at Burton Albion in League One and at SN Beveren in Belgiums Challenger Pro League, before being invited to train with Nigerias Flying Eagles ahead of the 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations squad selection.

We welcome this transfer as a defining moment for Ademola OlaAdebomi. After spending 13 formative years at Crystal Palace, this move to WSG Tirol brings the promise of regular firstteam football an essential platform for his continued development.

We acknowledge the challenge of transitioning from youth and reserve football to a senior team environment. Yet OlaAdebomis track record especially his tally in Premier League 2 demonstrates both talent and readiness for this next step.

We believe WSG Tirol offers the ideal setting for a breakthrough. The Austrian Bundesliga is competitive, yet not overwhelming, giving him the space to adapt and flourish. Consistent minutes could rapidly accelerate his growth and position him for future national selection.

We anticipate that with his physical presence and finishing ability, OlaAdebomi can contribute goals soon. His prior loan experiences in England and Belgium should help him adapt quickly to Austrian football and life in a new country.

We remain confident that this longterm move is a strategic launchpad for OlaAdebomis ambitions. A successful spell in Austria could reignite interest from larger leagues and strengthen his claim to a regular role in Nigerias youth and possibly senior national sides. This feels like the turning point his career has needed.
